まず、「mysql-4.0.21-win.zip」これをインストール。
名前を指定して実行から、「E:¥mysql¥bin¥winmysqladmin.exe」を実行し、特権ユーザーのIDとパスワードを設定する。
タスクバーにある、OracleとかSQL Serverでおなじみの信号機のアイコンをクリックして、Show meを選択。「my.ini Setup」タブを開いて[mysqld] セクションに以下の行を追加。
default-character-set=sjis
続いて、Create ShortCut on Start MenuボタンとSave Modificationボタンをそれぞれクリック。で、MySQLを一度再起動（Stop the Service -> Start the Service）。
PerlにDBのインターフェイスをインストールする。ActivePerlのインストール時に「Enable PPM3 to send profile info to ASPN」にチェックをつけないでインストールすると、PPM.batが実行できないので、再インストールしました(´Д｀;)ヾ。
コマンドプロンプトでPPMを実行。

これらを実行。モジュールがそれぞれダウンロードされてインストールされます。

あれ、Image Magickがインストールされてない(´Д｀;)ヾ。ということで、MySQLに関係ないけど、
Image Magickもインストール。

インストールするときに、「Install PerlMagick for ActiveState Perl …」にチェックするのを忘れずに。
最後にデータベースを作成。

mt.cfgをいじって、mt-load.cgiを実行すればMT環境の出来上がり。
おまけ。
phpMyAdminもインストールしようと、ダウンロードサイトへ。

ここで、2.5.6をダウンロードして実行してみると、まったく動かない。というか何も表示されない。設定のせいだと、あれこれ確認しても、直らない・・・。
phpMyAdmin 2.5.7-pl1をインストールしたら動きました(´Д｀;)ヾ。
